Assam: 4 Suspected ULFA (I) Linkmen Arrested Today

Guwahati, August 7, 2019:

In a recent development to curb terrorist activities in the state, Dibrugarh police has arrested four United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) linkmen from different places.

The apprehended linkmen have been identified as Chayanika Kaman, who was working as a lecturer in Golaghat, Kabita Kaman is a student from Dibrugarh, Kanak Pegu working as an ICU technician in a private nursing home of Dibrugarh and Debajyoti Dowarah from Sasoni, Naharkatia.

The police seized an ULFA flag, 7 mobile phones from their possession.

Further investigation is on.

While talking to Inside Northeast, a Dibrugarh police official said: “Investigation is underway, and we are waiting to make an official announcement.”

It is to be mentioned that on July 18, at around 09:58 pm, an United Liberation Front of Asom, Independent (ULFA-I) cadre laid down arms and surrendered to security personnel in Tinsukia district of Assam.
