Assam: 7 new positive COVID-19 cases reported, tally stands at 86

Seven new positive coronavirus cases have been reported in Assam, state Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted. With this cases, the total positive coronavirus cases climbed up to 86.

The minister informed that all the new cases include three cancer patients - Manoranjan Saha, Pradip Kumar Bania and Gopindra Chandra Malakar;  one 13-year-old heart patient and three attendants - P Basudev Patowari, Nilakantha Deb and Mina Rani Bania.

The patients have a travel history to Mumbai, the minister informed.

It may be mentioned that a total of 15 persons were tested positive for COVID-19 in Guwahati yesterday. They had come to direct contact with Mongru Sahani. Later, the district administration declared the Fancy Bazar a containment zone.

Earlier, four persons including a Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) doctor and a relative of an employee of Dr B Borooah Cancer Institute were tested positive for coronavirus in Guwahati.
