Assam: AASAA organises Janajati Gaurav Divas in Margherita

MARGHERITA: Janajati Gaurav Divas which has been named after National Freedom Fighter Veer Birsa Munda on his 146th Birth Anniversary was celebrated on Monday near NH 315 Margherita which was organised by All Adivasi Students Association of Assam(AASAA) Margherita Regional Committee.

The Programme begins with a floral tribute before the statue of Veer Birsa Munda which was done by Ramanus Lakra General Secretary of All Adivasi Students Association of Assam (AASAA) Tinsukia District Committee which was followed by lightning of earthen lamps by Raja Kujur President of AASAA.

After that a cake Cutting ceremony was held which was done by Palash Rajkumar Ahom ADC(i/c) Margherita. Adivasi Cultural team from Jagun came and performed many dance and songs which was highly applauded by the present guests. Ajay Mundri General Secretary of AASAA Margherita Regional Committee in his welcome speech said that National freedom fighter Veer Birsa Munda fought against the British Imperialism which just at the age of 25 he got martyrdom.

Jarnel Minj President of AASAA Margherita Regional Committee who anchored the whole programme said that every year we celebrate the Birth Anniversary of National Freedom fighter Veer Birsa Munda with gaiety and enthusiasm which is like a festival for all Adivasi people of our country.

Palash Rajkumar Ahom ADC(i/c) Margherita praised National freedom fighter Veer Birsa Munda immense struggle who got martyrdom for our Motherland which every people of our country must respect the sacrifice of National Freedom fighter Veer Birsa Munda.
