ASSAM: AKRSU PROTEST TURNS VIOLENT

The demand of Kamatapur state by AKRSU turns violent in Bongaigaon and Chirang as the members of AKRSU tried to block the highway by burning tyres.
Jitesh Barman, OC of Dahligaon Police Station requested the members of AKRSU to observe the protest peacefully as the goons of AKRSU members attacked a i10 car. For doing so, the OC ordered to Lathi charge at the AKRSU members and scattered them. One of the protesters named Satyajit Sarkar has been arrested by the police and taken into custody.
The situation in some parts is still tensed as the normal life has been hampered by the violent protest.
Meanwhile in Bongaigaon the members of AKRSU blocked the BOC gate Bongaigaon by burning tyres and the exact area where the attack occurred is Chapaguri Pranab Mandir, Chirang.
