ASSAM: AMBUBACHI MAHAUTSAV TO START FROM 22ND JUNE

The most awaited holy festival of the year is here! While the state gears up to celebrate the annual Hindu mela from 22nd of June from 9.27 a.m till 25th June. It can also be noted that the District Adminstration stated about installation of 400 CCTV cameras within the Kamakhya temple premises. The four day programme includes holy rituals and prayers by different priests across the globe. The annual celebration of the menstrual cycle of Mother Earth is expected to be observed by atleast around 5000 sadhus and sanyas this year.

According to the reports the District Administration stated about the recruitment of 500 volunteers for the entire four days. Further Ambubachi, the annual congregation of Kamakhya is considered as the fulfilment of all the desires of mankind. It is considered to be the biggest in Eastern India and generally attracts 15 to 20 lakh pilgrims, tantriks and foreign researchers.

INSIDENE speaking to Kunal Sharma, Secretary Ambubachi Mela Committee, he stated that this year strict actions are taken regarding the placing of shoes. Further he also said that no shoes are allowed after the Police Station point. While asking about the facilities taken he said that one special camp has been set up at Nahorbari for the saints. It can also be noted that, camps will be set up beside the roads with proper medications, drinking water facilities and placement of the shoes.
