ASSAM: AN APPEAL TO THE CHIEF MINISTER TO ENQUIRE INTO THE ANOMALIES: DEBABRATA SAIKIA

After the unfurling of the ABP group of   Himanta Biswa Sarma having links with the self claimed 'Power Broker ' Anuj Poddar jolting the state,  the Assam Congress president Debabrata Saikia writes to the Chief Minister to lodge a thorough enquiry into the matter. He stated "our chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal promised us of a corruption-free transparent Assam,  now a minister from his own cabinet is tracked having links with a dubious charactered man in a primary report by Tax Department." He stated that the chief minister staying intact to his words should assure the people of a corrupted-free Assam. He stated "The incumbent government rose to power on the plank that the Congress government was corrupted and inefficient, however this government has now been tainted many times with different allegations. The government should therefore place an enquiry and assure the people of Assam" He also stated that the government should confront the government of Delhi and get a grip of the matter and also that the departmental mails of the Minister accused should be handed to Cyber Cell for verification of the same.

Thus it will be interesting to see what steps will be undertaken by the government to mitigate the menace of corruption.  As it is rightly said that fighting corruption is not only good governance, it's self defence
