KOKRAJHAR: Ahead of BTC elections the police administration in Kokrajhar recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunitions in the district on Saturday early morning.
In a joint search operation launched by the security forces, a huge huge cache of arms and ammunition was recovered from Saraibil area under Gossaigaon subdivision in Kokrajhar.
The recovery included four AK 56, seven numbers of country-made gun, ten pistols, three grenades, three hand made bomb,29 nos magazines and several rounds of ammunitions.

Meanwhile, in continuation of operation against illegal weapons (abuse and stockpiling), a rigorous search operation was conducted by Chirang Police led by Addl. SP (Hq), Chirang assisted by CI Runikhata & OC, Runikhata PS on Saturday from 6.30 A.M. onwards inside the jungle of Chirang Reserve Forest located towards north-western side of village Sidhapara under Runikhata PS. Details of recovery are as follows:-
(i) M 20 Pistol along with magazine : 01
(ii) 9 mm Factory made Pistol : 03
(iii) 9 mm Pistol magazines : 03
(iii)7.65 mm Factory made Pistol : 02
(iv) 7.65 mm Factory made Pistol magazine : 02
(v)Factory made rifle : 01 along with magazine
(vi) Chinese Hand Grenades : 02
(vii) No. 36 hand grenade: 02
(viii) AK series live ammunition : 09 rounds
(ix) 9 mm Live ammunition: 07 rounds
(x) 7.65 Live ammunition: 02 rounds
(xi) 7.62 * 25 live ammunition: 04 rounds
