ASSAM: AGP ALL SET FOR THE ENSUING PANCHAYAT ELECTIONS

Asom Gana Parisad(AGP) is holding a workers’ meet today at Khanapara, Guwahati to gear up for the Panchayat Elections scheduled to be held later this month. The regional party has been in news after it has announced to go it alone in the Panchayat Polls.

In the 2016 Assembly Polls, AGP and BJP had forged an alliance where it marked a resounding victory. But in the year 2017 the general secretary of AGP, Kamala Kalita stated that the party has decided to contest the coming Panchayat elections on its own. The party today is holding a meeting where the flagship agenda of the party is to be formulated. Thousands of workers of the party spread across the state is attending the meeting.
