In a recent development in Hailakandi, a medical camp was organised at flood affected areas of Janeki Bazar in Hailakandi district. While the following was headed by a medical teams of 30 Assam Rifles, 21 Sector under the aegis of IGAR (E) on Sunday.
It can be noted that the flooding in the areas has been a major administrative challenge, as of now the medical teams are travelling and reaching far off places to contain the spread of water borne and skin diseases.
The personnel of Assam Rifles also distributed solar lamps in the adjoining relief camps where people are stranded, as the areas are still under water. The medical teams and personnel of Assam Rifles have been operating continuously in the flood affected areas of Barak valley of Assam and in Tripura.
An estimate around of 700 people were treated at the medical camp and given free medicines. The local MLA Nizamuddin Choudhury visited the medical camp and appreciated the efforts taken by the Assam Rifles. While he also requested the Assam Rifles to organise more such camps in other affected areas of Hailakandi district. The flood-hit people appreciated the noble endeavour of the Assam Rifles and expressed their gratitude for the help and assistance rendered to them at the time of distress.
