Assam: Bajaj Pulsar Rider Carrying Guns Nabbed by Security Personnel in Charaideo District

Charaideu, July 12, 2019:

Personnel of the Army and CRPF have jointly apprehended two individuals and seized arms from their possession from the Teok Ghat area of Charaideo district in Assam on Thursday.

The operation was launched by the joint team based on specific inputs.

The apprehendees are yet to be identified. From their possession, one .22 bore pistol along with one magazine and three live .22 ammunition and a country-made pistol have been recovered.

The bike Bajaj Pulsar 180 CC in which they were travelling has also been seized.

A case has been registered at Sonari Police Station in relation to this.

It is to be mentioned that on June 23, an United Liberation Front of Asom (Independent) (ULFA-I) cadre called Rituparna Asom alias Surajit Limboo has been apprehended by the Sapekhati Police Station in Charaideo District of Assam. Surajit Limboo had gone missing from his home on 6 September 2018. It later came to light that he had left his house to join the ULFA (I).

His joining the ULFA has been corroborated by surrendered cadres and also by his own acceptance. The ULFA (I) militant was nabbed today at around 2 pm at Dhuniya Pathar under the Sapekhati Police Station. Rituparna Asom alias Surajit Limboo, aged 17-18 yrs, is a resident Sapekhati in Charaideo District. He dropped out of school in class VIII.
