Assam bandh affects normal life

Guwahati (Assam), Aug 29, 2018:

The Statewide 36-hour bandh being observed in various parts of lower Assam under the aegis of All Assam Koch Rajbongshi Students’ Union (AKRSU) since Tuesday morning has severely disrupted normal life in many areas.

According to reports, the bandh has disrupted normal vehicular movement as AKRSU activists blocked roads by burning tyres.

AKRSU has called the bandh in support of its demand for creating a separate Kamatapur State, besides including the Koch Rajbongshi community in the Scheduled Tribe list.
