Assam: Barak Valley citizens’ plea to NRC state coordinator

A group of citizens from Barak Valley has written a letter to state coordinator of National Register of Citizens (NRC) Prateek Hajela demanding the inclusion of names of all Bengalis living in Assam in the NRC.

“The final draft NRC will be published on July 30. We strongly demand that the names of each and every Bengali residing in Assam be included in the final draft. No Bengalis living in Assam can be robbed of any right or be removed from their homeland. All detention camps must be closed down immediately. We demand the withdrawal of all cases against Topodhir Bhattacharya,” they demanded.
