ASSAM: BDO AND ENGINEERS BOOKED IN MNREGA SCAM IN HOJAI

Large scale corruption has twirled the district of Hojai. Massive corruption worth crores of rupees has occurred in incurring of the MNREGA scheme in the Yogijan Development Block. Earlier due to the it irregulation of many schemes in the East Bogori village of Jogijan Developmental block people had had complained the administration against this.. Thereafter under the surveillance of a Judge named Utpal Bhuyan an investigation against the same was commenced which unveiled dubious information.

After the revelation the District Commissioner ordered the Circle Officer to lodge complaint against the corrupts and accordingly a FIR was lodged against BDO Giri Boruah, some Engineers named Mukhtar Hussain,Biplab Devnath, Chairman of Gaon Panchayat Sahabuddin, GRS and contractor  Jalal Sahabuddin. A case was filed against the miscreants under 281/18, 282/18,283/18. They demanded to arrest the accused at the earliest.

However no firm action has been undertaken by the Police till the time of filing this report.
