Guwahati, November 1, 2018:

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal Thursday inaugurated the Assam Bhawan in Chennai.

Tamil Nadu Minister for Fisheries D Jayakumar, Assam Agriculture Minister Atul Bora, Chandan Brahma, Assam Tourism Development Corporation (ATDC) Chairman Jayanta Malla Barua were also present at the inauguration ceremony.

The Bhawan spreading over 1100 sq.m has been built at an expenditure of Rs 12.93 crore.

The project was sanctioned in 2011 work of which started the same year and was completed in June this year.

The new Assam Bhawan has all the basic facilities such as restaurant, conference hall, VVIP Suite room, three Suites, eight guest rooms and six four-bedded rooms.

The maintenance of the Bhawan has been taken up by the ATDC.
