Assam Boat Tragedy: Passengers' belongings recovered from Brahmaputra

GUWAHATI: After the Nimatighat boat tragedy on Wednesday, several documents of people are recovered from the Brahmaputra river, which are suspected to be of passengers onboard on the day of the accident.

A bag was recovered from the Brahmaputra river of Behali’s Rangchali area today. It is suspected that the bag belongs to Madan Pegu of Dhokuakhana as many documents have been found in the bag in his name.

The police have also recovered a bike registration card registered under the name of one Samed Ali who came floating in the Brahmaputra river today along with the bag.

Further investigation is on.

So far two out of 92 passengers were found dead in the incident whereas one still remained missing.
