Assam Boy Pradipta Emerges as Eastern Region Topper in JEE Advanced 2019

Guwahati, June 17, 2019:

Pradipta Parag Bora from Guwahati has made the entire region proud by securing All India Rank 28 in the General Category to emerge as the topper of the IIT Guwahati zone (which includes all the states of the North East, Bihar, Siliguri of West Bengal and Singapore) in the JEE Advanced, 2019.

It may be mentioned that Pradipta's rank is one of the best from Assam in recent years. The whizkid also secured state rank 1 in the JEE Mains 2019 Paper 1 with 99.99%.

The young genius is the son of Geetasree Gogoi Bora and Prasanta Kumar Bora of Guwahati, Assam. Pradipta has also the eastern region topper as his rank is above the IIT Kharagpur zone topper.

This year, 1,61,319 candidates appeared in both papers 1 and 2 in the highly competitive JEE (Advanced) 2019, out of which 38,705 candidates have qualified for the exam.

Some applause for the ladies as well as out of the total qualified candidates, 5,356 are females!

Kartikey Chandresh Gupta of Ballarpur, Maharashtra obtained 346 marks out of 372 marks and emerged as the All India topper.

Himanshu Gaurav Singh secured the second rank.

Joint Entrance Examination – Advanced, formerly the Indian Institutes of Technology-Joint Entrance Examination, is an academic examination held annually in India. It is conducted by one of the seven zonal IITs under guidance of the Joint Admission Board.
