Assam Social welfare minister and senior BPF leader Pramila Rani Brahma has expressed confidence over BPF’s return to power in Bodoland Territorial Council with an absolute majority in the council’s general elections.
Brahma has opined of the conduct of BTC election within the September next after a thorough observation of the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic in the state. She has urged the state election commission and government not to go beyond the September month because a puja festival is proceeding in the state.
“We can expect the council elections to be held within the September”, she said.
She said that BPF is fully prepared for the council elections and hopeful that the BPF party is winning majority seats under the leadership of BPF supremo Hagrama Mohilary. She has expressed her optimism that the BPF party has been gaining up its mass support across the region ahead of the council elections. She has expressed her unhappiness over manipulated words raising against the BPF leaders from opposition parties which are blaming the BPF party leaders in the region.

On the job termination in BTC Transport department, Brahma said that the job termination came from Governor of Assam, who is now head in BTAD administration to blame the BPF ruled BTC administration. She has admitted that some educated youths were given way jobs in the Transport department, but now they have been terminated from BTC Principal Secretary.
“There was a need to conduct interviews or tests to appoint employees in the transport department, but incidentally did not conduct interviews", Brahma added.
Brahma has lauded NCC officers for taking initiative to plant saplings in various places in the district, hoped that the sapling plantation drive will be extending help in reforestation in BTC region.
She has expressed her unhappy over massive deforestation carried out in the deep forest areas in the districts as BTC region is now under Governor’s Rule. She has urged governor to take strict step against the deforestation situation and stop the timber smuggling or deforestation activities.
Minister also attended at a tree plantation programme at Bedlangmari in Kokrajhar on Wednesday, which was initiated by 7 Assam Battalion of NCC,Dhubri to make green environment and healthy living.
Brahma planted a mango tree at Bedlangmari in the presence of villagers and NCC officials.
The NCC has so far planted over 10,000 saplings at various places in the district and strongly taking good initiative for reforestation in the region.
Col Niraj Bakshi told that the NCC has initiated a massive step to conserve green reforestation and accordingly planting saplings.
He has highlighted over the mission of massive plantation drive carrying by NCC in the district to bring green environment and deep reforestation.
