Troops of Border Security Force of Guwahati Frontier apprehended one Indian cattle smuggler along with 11 cattle heads on Thursday from bordering areas of Mahamayachar of South Salmara district, Assam.
Acting on tip-off, the patrolling party of BSF troops of Border Out Post (BOP), Mahamayachar apprehended one Indian cattle smuggler along with 11 cattle heads from bordering area International Boundary, while he was trying to smuggle the cattle from India to Bangladesh.

Apprehended cattle smuggler has been identified as Haten Ali.
He has been handed over to the police and booked at the South Salmara Police Station for further investigation.
BSF troops apprehended the smugglers while working on the issues of trans-border crimes and illegal infiltration.
It is to be mentioned that the BSF of Guwahati Frontier apprehended two Indian cattle smugglers along with six cattle heads on June 1, 2019, from the bordering areas of Jhalachar and Chowkichar district South Salmara Mankachar (Assam). Also on May 31, one Indian cattle smuggler along with one cattle from the area of responsibility of Border Outpost of Jhalachar. He was trying to smuggle the cattle from India to Bangladesh.
