In a latest development, in the sensational Aircel-Maxis case, a senior bureaucrat Kumar Sanjay Krishna's name figured in the charge-sheet filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
According to reports, a charge-sheet has also been filed against former Finance Minister P Chidambaram and his son Karti Chidambaram in the case along with 16 others, including five government officials.
As sources revealed, Chidambaram's role had come under the scanner of investigating agencies in the Aircel-Maxis deal of Rs.3,500 crore and INX Media case involving Rs. 305 crore.
It was during his tenure as the Union Finance Minister in the UPA-I government that the Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) granted clearance to the two ventures in which alleged irregularities have been found.
Sanjay Krishna, speaking to INSIDENE made his stand clear by stating that he did everything according to rules and guidelines.
He said the truth would come to light following the probe.
