Assam clerk nabbed in Corruption case

Assam Guwahati, January 5, 2019:

A Lower Division Clerk, Nasiur Rahman, at the office of the Inspector of Drugs was caught red-handed accepting a bribe yesterday at 5:50 pm (approx). He was taking the money from a complainant, Azgor Ali. The bribe amount of Rs. 25,000 has been seized from the corrupt official.

As per reports, the accused had asked for the bribe, allegedly on behalf of the Inspector of Drugs, for granting of a licence to open a medicine wholesale shop. Azgor approached the Anti Corruption Bureau team and a trap was laid for the suspect as per standard ACB PS in matter of ACB PS Case No. 01/2019 u/s 7(a)/ 7-Aof PC Act (as amended in 2018). The suspect has been arrested and handed over to concerned authorities.
