Assam CM directs PWD to speed up extension work of Tinsukia Civil Hospital

TINSUKIA: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday held a meeting with DC, SP, and other senior officials to review the flood preparedness, COVID  situation, and management strategy.

Along with reviewing the COVID-19 situation and health infrastructure of the district, he asked the PWD to complete the ongoing extension work of Tinsukia Civil Hospital at the earliest so that it helps us to enhance the ICU capacity and accommodate more beds.

"Vigilance, proactive measures and ear to the ground are key to pandemic & flood management", tweeted the Chief Minister. 

He further directed the administration to immediately find out vulnerable areas of the district affected by the flood, with a special focus on Doom Dooma town, and expedite flood protection work.  He also instructed to complete embankment strengthening to mitigate the impact of the flood.

Instructed Health Department to install 5 ICU beds & 5 dialysis machines at Digboi Civil Hospital in consultation with National Health Mission Assam. 

He further directed to carry out vaccination drive on a mission mode with a special focus on tea garden workers & areas with a high density of population.
