Assam CM personally joins police officers on duty tooversee anti-drunk driving campaign in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma personally joined the drive against drunk driving on the New years Eve was on the streets of Guwahati and interacted with public and officers on duty.

GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma personally joined the drive against drunk driving on the New years Eve was on the streets of Guwahati and interacted with public and officers on duty.

CM Sarma visited various locations of the city before midnight and joined the police in checking of vehicles to prevent any case of drunk driving.

Informing about the same, the CM tweeted, "Was on the streets of Guwahati throughout the night. Humbled to see the overwhelming response to our appeal to make 31st Dec an accident-free night. Kudos to @ GuwahatiPol for doing their best. Let’s continue our effort to make each day and every night of 2022 accident free."

 

Earlier, Assam Police shared a special invitation for people who are planning to drink and/or rash drive this new years eve.

In its invitation letter, the state police asked all such people to try and not be their guests. The police sarcastically allowed free entry for Rash drivers, Drunk drivers and other eligible violators.
