Assam CM Sonowal Reaches Maidan-e-Jung in Delhi ahead of Election to Defeat Kejriwal

New Delhi, February 4, 2020:

Amid continuing protests against the amendment of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act in Assam, the Chief Minister, Sarbananda Sonowal, has reached the power corridors of New Delhi as the saffron unit bids to unseat the Aam Aadmi leader from his perch atop the CM's throne.

Sonowal is one among many Northeast Indian Chief Ministers to campaign in Delhi ahead of the Assembly polls in which the BJP, that is being led from the front by Bhojpuri superstar Manoj Tiwari, till take on the powers of anti-corruption crusader turned politician, Arvind Kejriwal.

According to reports, Sonowal is already participating in BJP rallies meant to woo the voters ahead of the February 8 polls in the key battleground. The election for Delhi Assembly is scheduled to be held on February 8 while the counting of votes will take place on February 11. Sonowal is also participating in roadshows at several places in the national capital to promote the BJP candidates.

Meanwhile, the Assam Association Delhi has also organized an interaction session of the Assamese community residing here with the Chief Minister and Union Minister of State (in-charge) Sports & Youth Affairs Kiren Rijiju at the Srimanta Sankardev Bhawan here from 6 pm to 8 pm on February 4.
