Meanwhile, Bora has also informed that that he is on board with the idea of appointing veteran leader of the party and former CM, Tarun Gogoi, as the new President.

Bora has further lambasted the ruling BJP party and alleged that they distributed mobile phones and money to woo voters ahead of the by-polls in the State (the BJP won 3 out of the 4 Seats).

It may be mentioned here that on October 26, Assam’s three-time former CM Tarun Gogoi on Saturday said that he is ready to accept responsibilities of the post of president of Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC).

Addressing the media, Tarun Gogoi had said, “If the party decides to give responsibility, I am willing to hold the position of president of APCC. I still believe that I can defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).”

Hinting at an an internal clash between the leaders of the Congress party, Gogoi added, “The party leaders did not give any responsibility to me and MP Abdul Khaleque wanted to take the credit, which ultimately led to the defeat in the Jania Constituency.”
