ASSAM: COP CAUGHT RED-HANDED TAKING BRIBE

A team of the Vigilance and Anti-corruption (V & AC) of the Assam Police today arrested the officer-in-charge, Munin Dutta from the Kaurbaha Police Station, Rangiya for taking a bribe of Rs 6,000 Ansar Ali.  As per report the police officer demanded a sum of Rupees 1 lakh from the accused Ansar Ali, a resident of Bihapara village when he came to submit bail documents. Ali had already paid a total of Rs. 75,000 to Dutta. The team laid a trap to catch the officer red-handed as Ansar Ali approached the Vigilance and Anti-corruption (V & AC) for help. The team took Munin Dutta under custody along with a broker Nabi Ali in relation with the case.
