GUWAHATI: Assam has created history today by successfully administering 2 crore doses of the first dose of COVID-19.
On the other hand, the state administered over 76 lakh doses of the second dose of COVID-19.
Of the total 2,7 6,09, 960 vaccination doses 20,0,03,623 people were administered with first doses while 76,06,337 people have received the second doses.
Total 2,601 sites are conducting vaccinations in the state among which 2,588 sites are government and 13 are private.
The state Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Health Minister Keshab Mahanta shared the development on Twitter.

Minister Mahanta further stated said, "The joy is immeasurable. Sincere gratitude & respect to the doctors, nurses, frontline workers, district health officials & administration for their continuous efforts in protecting us from the virus & vaccinating the eligible people, especially the ones living in far-flung areas."
Assam in the last 24 hours reported 347 new COVID-19 cases taking the total number of cases to 6,09,262.
On the other hand, the state reported three deaths due to the virus.
With the new deaths, the death toll stands at 5,981, and the case fatality rate is 0.98 percent.
As many as 235 recoveries were registered during the period taking cumulative recoveries to 5,99,290.
The recovery rate in the state is now 98.36 percent.
The state currently has 2,644 active cases of infection.
