Assam Daughter Hima Das Leaves Nation in Tears During 'KBC' Episode

Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan on Friday quizzed Assam pride Hima Das and ace sprinter Dutee Chand in his game show 'Kaun Banega Crorepati', and the duo touched the nation's emotional chord with some heart-rending stories.

In an episode which saw the two 'golden girls' accompanied by former India cricketer Virender Sehwag, there were plenty of occasions when the heart-wrenching stories of the two athletes’ struggle left the audience in tears.

At a point, Hima brought up a recent incident that left the audience reaching for their tissues. Hima said that while she was in the Czech Republic earning golds for India, her mother was undergoing surgery in India, and she could not be by her side.

Heaping praise on the two star athletes, Bachchan said, that “We become very excited when you two win”. Bachchan also tried to converse with Hima in hindi, which left the audience in guffaws.

Assam girl Hima historic gold medal at the world championship, she called her Dad to inform that she had become the world champion.

To which her father said that this was too late in the night in India and advised her to sleep. “He said we will speak in the morning,” Hima’s father told her.
