ASSAM: DEAF AND DUMB THRASHED ON CHARGE OF ABDUCTING CHILD

A deaf and dumb youth was rescued by the police from the clutches of a mob in Assam but not before he was beaten up black and blue on the charge of attempting to kidnap a child. The incident was reported from the Bengena village of Bhalukmari in Hojai district’s Lanka on Saturday night.

The victim, Rohit Paswan, was caught by the locals who alleged that he was trying to kidnap a child from the village. They tied him to a pole and thrashed him. Later, on receiving information, the Lanka Police reached the spot and rescued him. When the police reached the site, the mob attempted to attack the vehicle of the personnel. According to police sources, the victim had some psychological disorder and he does not seem to be a child abductor. Further interrogation is on.
