The Floodwater levels in all districts of Assam are receding in the last 24 hours. Over 27 lakh people have been affected with a death toll of over 80.
As per the latest update of the Assam State Disaster Management Authority, as on today, a total of 2,078 villages in 61 revenue circles of 17 districts viz. Dhemaji, Darrang, Baksa, Barpeta, Nalbari, Chirang, Bongaigaon, Kokrajhar, Dhubri, Goalpara, Kamrup, Kamrup (M), Morigaon, Nagaon, Golaghat, Jorhat and Cachararehaving flood waters affecting a population of 27, 15, 184.

Presently, 768 Relief Camps are operational in the districts of Baksa,Nalbari, Barpeta, Chirang, Bongaigaon, Kokrajhar, Dhubri, Goalpara, Kamrup, Morigaon, Nagaon, Golaghat and Jorhat districts with 1,58,896 inmates and 161 Relief Distribution Centres in the districts of Dhemaji, Lakhimpur,Barpeta, Bongaigaon, Kokrajhar, Kamrup and Morigaon.
A total of five persons have lost their lives due to flood in the districts of Baksa (2), Barpeta (1), Cachar (1) and Biswanath (1) in last 24 hours. This has led to the rise in death toll to 80.
The water level of Rivers at Danger Level: Brahmaputra at Neamatighat (Jorhat) and Dhubri, JiaBharali at N.T. Road Xing (Sonitpur), Puthimari at N.H. Rd. Xing (Kamrup); and Bekiat Rd. Bridge (Barpeta).
