Bollywood queens Sharmila Tagore and her daughter, Soha Ali Khan sashayed down the ramp wearing Assam designer Sanjukta Dutta's designs at the Lotus India Fashion Show held in New Delhi.

Sanjukta had earlier designed stunning Assam’s “Mekhela Chador” for popular Bollywood celebrities like Priyanka Chopra, Bipasha Basu, Dia Mirza, Zareen Khan, Preity Zinta, Tabu, Karisma Kapoor, Hema Malini, Esha Deol, among others.

The celebrated fashion designer was conferred with the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke Excellence Award, 2018, in 'best fashion designer of the year' category. She hails from Nagaon district of Assam and completed her bachelors of Engineering from Assam Engineering College in 1995. Later, she joined the public works department (PWD) as an assistant engineer before becoming a fashion designer.
