Assam Director General of Police Mukesh Sahay today sought support from the people of the state in their mission to curb crime against women and children. He appealed to the people to inform the police about house helps, drivers, masons, plumbers and any other such employment made by them.

The DGP also informed that the police is investigating the cases of crime against women and children with utmost seriousness and SPs of all districts have been directed to personally supervise such cases, ensuring quick filing of charge sheets. He also informed that a special cell shall be formed to investigate cases of crime against women and children. A senior women police officer shall head the cell.
