DHUBRI: A team of Dhubri Forest Division conducted a raid and seized two 14 wheeler dumpers, which was carrying crushed stones illegally by using an old challan. In 10 days 18 numbers of illegal dumpers and trucks been detained by the Forest Department along with 2 illegal band saw mill.

A team led by Salam Uddin Sarkar, I/c Protection Squad as per D.F.O's instruction stated that the two 14 wheeler dumpers bearing registration number BR-11GD-1879 and BR-11GC-0475 loaded with crushed stones was able to seized by Forest Check Station and Protection Squad Dhubri jointly, as it was supposed to supply the stones illegally by using an old challan.

It may be recalled that for the past few days, a nexus of stone mafia operating the business from Chirang district even sometimes from West Bengal via Srirampur in Assam.

The stone mafia's illegally do overloading and operate the business by sending stones to L&T Company and International Trade Centre at Sonahat in Dhubri with old challans.

The district administration should take immediate action against the smuggled stone mafia's in this regard stated Deepak Chandra Deka, Divisional Forest Officer, Dhubri.
