The Dibrugarh PWD Engineers Association and Contractors association donated 25 Nos. of car wheel lock (wheel jammers) to Dibrugarh Traffic branch in a function on Saturday. The donation has been made in view of increasing number of traffic rule violations due to illegal parking of vehicles in Dibrugarh.
Deputy Commissioner Pallav Gopal Jha, Superintendent of Police Prateek Vijay Thube, ADC Ranjit Konwar, ASP Padmanav Baruah, Circle Officer (east) Sujata Gogoi, DTO Sanjib Hazarika, DSP, Dibrugarh, OC Rajib Saikia, Traffic Incharge attended the function held at Dibrugarh Sadar Police station.
Addressing the occasion, SP Thube thanked the organisations for their initiative and assured that the jammers will be used to manage the traffic system in Dibrugarh.
Deputy Commissioner also thanked the associations for the step taken by them. He wished that the jammers will be properly used to implement the traffic plans in Dibrugarh. The Deputy Commissioners said that many decisions have been taken in the Road Safety Committee meeting held yesterday regarding steps to be taken for road safety.
