Assam Down Town University, Assam has hosted a three-days Training of Teachers (TOT) on student Induction Programme, organized by University Grants Commission (Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India) at the premises of Assam Down Town University, Panikhaiti from August 8 to August 10.
The Programme commenced with the inaugural session followed by the opening remarks by Dr. Amarjyoti Choudhury, Vice-Chancellor, Assam Down Town University.
The prime objective of holding this three-day session is to induct the teachers about the basic aspects which need to be imparted to students for their overall social, emotional, psychological and mental well-being. The three-day session would cover topics on importance of mentoring and issues to be dealt in SIP, human behavior, the role of education, social sensitivities of various issues like gender equality, harassment, anti-ragging, and public grievance. Also views on Interdisciplinary Education, communication and value education sessions to be imparted.
The Three Day Training Programme was attended by around 400 teachers.
