Assam: Dreaded Rhino Poacher Arrested in Nagaon

Guwahati, August 6, 2019:

A Special Operation Team (SOT) of Nagaon Police on Monday apprehended one dreaded Rhino Poacher along with arms and ammunition.

The team was guided by Superintendent of Police, Nagaon and led by Manas Saikia, Deputy Superintendent of Police (HQ), John Das, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSB) Nagaon, SI Jiten Phukan, O/C Dhing PS and other staffs.

The dreaded Rhino poacher is yet to be identified.

The police seized one .303 rifle, one .303 magazine and three .303 live rounds from his possession.

According to official sources, he was also involved in many cases of armed violence earlier.
