ASSAM: EIGHT DAY OF FLOOD IN THE STATE

The eight day of the first wave of flood affected 671 numbers of villages in five numbers of districts such as Hojai, Cachar, Hailakandi, Karimganj, and Nagaon of Assam.

The crop area has been affected in Morigaon in the flood. Areas like Barak at Badarpurghat (Karimganj) and Kushiyara at Karimganj (Karimganj) are flowing above danger level. One person has been reported Dead from Karimganj in the last 24 hours taking the Total death toll in Flood to 18. Total number of affected population today is 5, 14,597.

Today, 9,143 more Persons were rescued from, Hailakandi, Karimganj and Cachar by NDRF (National Disaster Response Force) and SDRF (State Disaster Response Force) teams who have been engaged into service in the flood affected areas for search and rescue operation.

154 number of Relief Camps are operational in Cachar, Karimganj, Hailakandi, and Nagaon (Relief Camps were set up in Cachar a total of 49, Karimganj -67, Hailakandi – 37, and Nagaon - 1 no) with 1,49,129 inmates along with 197 number of Relief Distribution Centres were also operated in Cachar, Karimganj and Nagaon Districts of Assam.
