Assam: Father of Two Held for Raping Minor Girl in Haflong

Haflong, August 20, 2019:

Police on Sunday night arrested one Aktar Khan alias Bapon alias Rohit Kahar for raping a minor girl in Haflong in Dima Hasao district of Assam.

Police sources said that the accused Khan had first socialized with the minor girl using fake name (Rohit Kahar) in social media for a few day and on 15th August, Khan and the girl exchange each others number.

On Sunday, the Assam man had taken the girl in several picnic spot in the vicinity of Haflong and at around 8 pm, taking advantage of the dark, Khan raped the girl and left her near her house in an unconscious state.

Later, when the passers-by saw the girl, they immediately took her to her house and the family immediately took her to Hospital. On examining her, the doctor declare that she had been raped. The family immediately lodged an FIR at the Haflong P.S Khan was in Police custody within two hours.

Khan has been booked under case no. 85/19 under section 376 IPC and Protection Of Children from Sexual Offence (POCSO) Acts.

Sources also said that Khan was earlier held for committing similar crimes in Cachar district, he was booked under 366 and 376 IPC under Silchar P.S.

Khan, father of two children, is an auto-rickshaw driver by profession and is residence of Hager Nagar in Haflong.
