A major fire broke out in Assam district West Karbi Anglong district's Hamren New Market in which Hamren Bus Counter, and five shops were completely gutted.

The fire broke out at around 12.30 pm on Thursday, reports said. Hamren Police are trying to determine how to fire spread to surrounding areas, and an investigation has been launched into the matter. So far, no casualties or injuries have been reported, and the cause of fire has not been determined yet.
After the fire broke out, the people had immediately informed the Hamren fire brigade, but besides their "unpunctuality", they failed to load water in the fire brigade and thus, they were compelled to extinguish the fire by pulling water from a nearby river with a screw pump.
