The first wave of the annual flood has hit several parts of Assam as the water level of several rivers are rising continuously due to the incessant rainfall.
The water level of Motonga, Puthimari, Balti and Pagladia river are rising spontaneously.
Most parts along the Indo-Bhutan border have been submerged by the first wave of the flood.the ravaging flood destroyed several hectares of crops and properties.

People of the region urged the government for help. “We are already suffering since the lockdown was enforced to mitigate the spread of the COVID-19. Now, this is another problem occurred. It doubled our pain,” one of the locals said.
The flood has been an annual trauma for lakhs of families in Assam during the monsoon period.
In 2019, the ravaging flood submerged 30 out of 33 districts in the state damaging crops, and properties. More than 300 animals died in the flood in Kaziranga National Park.
