The Assam Government has offered Rs 1 crore aid to award winning filmmaker Rima Das for the Oscar nomininated film ‘Village Rockstars’. The aid was given for the promotion and publicity of the film. The film has been nominated as India’s official entry to the best foreign
language film section of the Oscars, 2019.
After many controversies and allegations, finally the government released the amount on Thursday.
The film depicts dreams and aspirations of minor villagers of Assam. The film was independently made and directed by Rima Das, who hails from Chaygoan, Assam.
