Assam govt forms two panels to decide evaluation process of 10,12 boards

The Assam government set up two committees on Saturday to propose methods for evaluatation Class 10 and 12 students as this year's state board examinations were cancelled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

GUWAHATI: The Assam government set up two committees on Saturday to propose methods for evaluatation Class 10 and 12 students as this year's state board examinations were cancelled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Reportedly, the two panels will have to submit their respective reports within a week.

The panel will be headed by Dr Alok Buragohain, former Vice Chancellor of Dibrugarh University and Academic Chairperson of Royal Global University.

Prof Dipak Kumar Sharma, Vice Chancellor of Kumar Bhaskar Varma Sanskrit and Ancient Studies University, will lead the other nine-member committee to recommend the procedure for Class 12 results.

The final results of both the examinations will be prepared by the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) and the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) and release it by July 30.

The Education department took the decison of cancelling the examinations on Friday during a meeting with health officials, education departments and other stakeholders, including representatives of students' bodies and teachers' organisations.

Both the boards will provide the technical and official support to the respective committees required for evaluation.

According to the official notification, the Secondary Education Department special commissioner formed a nine-member committee to prepare an evaluation process for Class 10 students.
