GUWAHATI: Assam Health and Education minister and NEDA convenor Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma while addressing a mammoth gathering in Kokrajhar today said that the UPPL-BJP-GSP alliance government in BTAD will stress the "building for peace and integrity in the Council.
Addressing a lakh-strong gathering at Kokrajhar, Sarma further proclaimed that the State Government has already sanctioned 60 crores for rehabilitation of NDFB members through the spirit of BTR accord.
"The BJP party has extended supports to the UPPL party without any condition under the leadership of UPPL president Pramod Boro and hopeful that the alliance would be successful with massive and healthy development," Biswa Sarma told that gathering that had turned out for the oath-taking ceremony of UPPL Chief Promod Boro as the new Chief Executive Member (CEM).

Sarma further added that from today onwards, the BTR area has created an environment with "parivartan" (change) and welfare aspects as the alliance government has social upliftment as one of its agendas, he said.
"BTR area is for all communities in all aspects while providing equal opportunity and rights," he stated, adding that all the aspects of the historic BTR treaty shall be implemented properly.
He further asserted that the state government has been taking bold steps to ensure healthy educational institution in the region. "40 new college as well many educational institutions would be setting up in four districts of the BTR," he added.
"We have handed over power to the new executive council of the BTC from today under the leadership of Pramod Boro to works for the people's welfare and development", Dr Sarma added.
He has also urged ABSU to continue its humanitarian services to bridge healthy development in the BTAD.
