ASSAM GOVT LAUNCHES WOMEN HELPLINE NUMBER

The Government of Assam today launched a women helpline number 181 to

provide 24 hours immediate and emergency response to women affected by

violence. Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal inaugurated the helpline number in Assam Secretariat. It will be a integrated system of WHL and OSC added that the idea behind this system is to restore the women and protecting against women violence. The Chief Minister also mentioned that strict actions against rapists will be taken within a short period of time as demanded by the public. The government also gave orders to set fast track courts in every district and arrange awareness programmes in every nook and corner of the state.
