The Assam government will prepare a comprehensive relief and rehabilitation policy for all the 1615 cadres of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB), who laid down their arms in Guwahati.
Assam’s Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, while addressing the Arms Laydown Ceremony today at the auditorium of Gauhati Medical College & Hospital (GMCH), said, “We will prepare a comprehensive relief and rehabilitation policy for all the NDFB cadres so that they remain in the mainstream.”

He informed that the relief and rehabilitation policy would be prepared and implemented with the consultation of leaders of all the four factions of NDFB, Gobinda Basumatary, Dhiren Bodo, Ranjan Daimary and B. Saoraigwra.

Sarma further informed that the Assam government would bring the Bodo Kachari Autonmous Council Bill in the next assembly session for Bodos residing outside Bodo Territorial Region (BTR).
