It may be mentioned that the Union Health Ministry had issued a health advisory listing some ‘dos’ and ‘don’ts’ stating the course of COVID-19 tends to be more severe in the case of the elderly people and children due to their weak immunity and body reserves. “Persons above 65 years of age, persons with comorbidities, pregnant women and children below the age of ten years shall stay at home except for essential and health purposes,” the advisory states.

It also rescued a child afflicted with a skin disease at the Algapur area in Assam. The personnel of Childline found that the parents couldn't ferry the child to the hospital due to the lockdown. They took the child to the SK Roy Civil Hospital for necessary treatment and also provided medicines.

The Childline has brought to light a large number of cases of children suffering from skin diseases at Marganpur tea estate under Chandipur in Assam. Following the prompt intervention of the district administration, a medical camp was conducted wherein proper check-up and treatment were provided to the suffering children together with the distribution of drinking water packets and soaps. “Children suffering from skin ailments have recovered fully, thanks to the administration and the health department," added Nath.
