The Assam police has recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition in Karbi Anglong district on June 3rd, 2020.

In this regard, the Karbi Anglong police arrested three out of seven accused. The accused have been identified as David Siama alias Samboi of Lamka Churachandpur, Manipur; Biki Thapa of Sagmuthi TE, Nagaon and Simon Lakra of Napani, Salna in Nagaon while Mang alias Mangboi Paite died in an encounter in Dhansiri.

A case (No. 4/2020) under sections 325, 370 and 386 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), R/W Sec 27 Arms Act, has been registered with the Dolamara police.

Police recovered one AK 81, two AK 56, one DBBL, different ammunitions (About 400), one grenade and few camp materials from the possession of the accused.

The arrested accused persons confessed that they were involved in the recent sensational rhino poaching case at Agoratoli , Kaziranga National Park, police said.
