Guwahati, January 27, 2020:

The AKRSU Central General Secretary Jibesh Ray, addressing the media, said, "Assam as well as BTAD organizations have been kept in the dark and the Assam Government, the Central Government, and the NDFB, in the name of peace, have undertaken an initiative to form a Union Territorial Council."

The Koch-Rajbongshi leader also alleged that when the BTC was formed, it was being said that all communities would receive equal benefits, but that was not the case.

Ray also informed that seven organizations will submit a memorandum to the Assam Governor stating that the non-Bodo organizations shall never accept the Government's move to turn the BTC into a Union Territorial Council.

"Everyone should come out....and show the Government's one-sided decision....that we oppose the Government's move that it has taken by keeping all the organizations in the dark.."
