GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Police recently busted an international gang of vehicle thieves. The Garchuk Police apprehended seven-vehicle thieves from several locations in the city.
According to reports, the thieves have been identified as Sohidul Ali of Chaygaon Hatipara, Nadir Ali of Sontoli, Ismail Ali, Jahidul Ali of Goroimari, Rajib Ali of Garchuk, Rahul Barman of Gabardhana and Najrul Sheikh of Nagarbera Simalitoli.

The gang was involved in the vehicle theft at Maligaon, Jalukbari, Bharalumukh, Uzanbazar, Ambari, Ganeshguri and different areas of the city as well as the state. They used to sell the vehicles in the north-eastern states and neighboring Myanmar, sources added.
Police also recovered some bikes from their possession. A court in Guwahati has sent all the thieves to four-day police custody.
