Kokrajhar: Massive crowds were witnessed at Longa River at Ramfalbill for community fishing in Kokrajhar district of Assam early on Monday morning.
Every year, the irrigation department releases water from the main gate of the Longa irrigation at Ramfalbill, and accordingly, all the people from the surrounding areas throng at the site for fishing.
People from all the communities are participating with jakoi, koloi, polo for fishing in the river.

People from different places of Kokrajhar district and it's adjoining areas came for fishing in the areas this time of the year.
Huge quantities of fish were caught by the locals. Happy locals were seen showing off their prize catches. Interacting with us, many locals disclosed their happiness and excitement at this fortunate turn of events.
"I am coming here for community fishing as Longa irrigation river releases water early in the morning today. I caught a borali fish", said a person from Boragari village.
