Assam: Massive fire at Fakiragram Bazar in Kokrajhar

A massive fire gutted at Fakiragram Bazar early this morning in the Kokrajhar district of Assam which led to huge damage to properties in the Bazar.

Over 55 shops have been gutted completely in the fire and worth of approximately one crore proprieties were damaged.

Reportedly, The fire has been generated from an electric shot circuit and took place around 3.10 am. However, the reason for the fire is yet to be known.

A four fire tender rushed to the spot to douse the fire but failed and the fire totally ashed. Traders of Fakiragram Bazar staged protest demonstration along the main road on demand of setting up of permanent fire services station at Fakiragram.

The traders in the Bazar are now demanding an investigation into the fire, provided with necessary compensation to the damaged traders.
